CITY OF DANBURY SEEKING
POLICE OFFICER APPLICANTS
The City of Danbury Police Department is pleased to announce that it is seeking diverse individuals who would like to pursue a career in law enforcement. Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, April 30, 2008 no later than 4:30pm.
Applicants must be United States Citizens, 21 years of age or older with a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license and no criminal record.
Mayor Boughton explained, "The City of Danbury is reaching out to anyone interested in a law enforcement career. Danbury's Police force is moving quickly into the future with a state-of-the-art new Police Headquarters currently under construction and an extensive restructuring of our Department's infrastructure. Hiring new Police Officers will enhance our plans for a growing, exceptional Police Department."
Individuals who apply or are interested in applying are encouraged to attend an Orientation Session on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 7pm in the Danbury City Hall Council Chambers on the third floor.
Danbury Police Officer's are responsible for the preservation of peace, protection of life and property, prevention of crime, and enforcement of all laws and ordinances. Applicants must pass an array of tests including written, oral, physical ability, polygraph, psychological and physical examinations, as well as an extensive background investigation. Testing dates are available in the application packets found on the city's website, www.danbury-ct.gov, and in the Personnel Department on the third floor of City Hall. Application must include a copy of their diploma or transcripts and a $35 application fee to be submitted with the application.
